If you are growing a business to one day sell it so you can sit on the beach drinking Pina Colada's (and get caught in the rain), then the elements you should really focus on developing are the sales processes, the value your services offer, and how it's all perceived by the public... Now I am not saying my book was the sole cause for this... essentially a lot of <span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">[insert bad word]</span></span> people began to write 'automated scripts' that spammed the service and made it impossible to use due to sporadic behaviour.<br /><br />But don't worry I have explored the web high and low to find a replacement tool for you... and guess what... If your business can only service people in Australia, what good is having your adverts displayed to those in Belgium, right ?<br /><br />So, whilst doing some <i>"strategic industry research" </i>for <a href="http://www.onholdadvertising.com.au/">On Hold Advertising</a> I wanted to try and find some proactive international on hold companies (read: overseas <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">adword</span> advertisers) I could contact and create some strategic marketing alliances with <i>(more on that technique in another post)</i>. But given I am located in Australia, its not that easy...<br /><br />However what I discovered is that by adding the code '<span style="font-weight: bold;">&<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">gl</span>=us</span>' to the end of a searches <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">url</span>, it will display those results as if searched from that country.<br /><br />For example, if I search 'messages on hold' from Australia I get the results and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">adwords</span> from Australian companies that have added 'messages on hold' to their list of keywords. It was like the company that now paid his wage was a third party or an arms lengths away. Not something he felt involved with yet. <br /><br />Later that same day, I was having a conversation with someone who had only been wih his empoyeer for a couple of months but his vocabulary was completely opposite - we do this... we do that... we we we all the way home.
